There are 20 comfortable, spacious and well-appointed rooms at Arumeru River Lodge, all of which offer en suite bathrooms and small private verandas.  They are set out in chalets, offering European style comfort with a distinct African twist, all amongst lush tropical gardens!

Set on the site of an old coffee plantation, the gardens at this lodge are a true delight for the budding botanist and the enthusiastic ornithologist alike.  There are bright flowers, large succulents, blooming bushes and unusual specimens around every corner – a veritable haven for the many birds and small antelope which can be spotted in the grounds.

The indoor communal areas are just as stunning.  The open lounge-cum-bar area is atmospheric and inviting, with wooden beamed ceiling, deep furnishings and unusual African artefacts adorning the walls.  Of course, the large open fireplace is always a great place to rest and relax before starting your Tanzania safari adventure.

Food is always filling and delicious, prepared by a dedicated kitchen team and professional chef.  The restaurant is a delightful place to dine on cooler evenings, whilst the terrace area is perfect for a hearty breakfast or a light lunch.

In-keeping with the natural and harmonious feel of the lodge in general, the large outdoor pool is solar heated, offering luxury without compromising on ethics.

The vast tropical garden setting of Arumeru River Lodge is its greatest asset. Taking a leisurely walk through the pleasant gardens, you can spot a wide variety of indigenous trees and plants and unsurprisingly a huge variety of birds that call this compound their ‘home’.

Also distinctively; Look out for the resident Dik diks, one of Africa’s smallest and cutest antelope, which also roam freely through the lush gardens or Arumeru River Lodge.

A sparkling pool provides a welcome relief on hot summer days.
